Barry White, Beaujolais nouveau, cabernet sauvignon, menotomy beer and wine, ninety plus cellars
I think it is over… the wine rut is done. I needed a break from learning and exploring wine but that is over. The bad taste in my mouth from the event in October is gone. Leave it to my friends at Menotomy to right my wrong. Drunk Mama and I stopped by the store last night to celebrate the first day of Beaujolais nouveau season as they were having a tasting. We left with more than just tastes but also with more knowledge about wine (thanks Dan!) and an excitement about several wines we have to try. Everyone is so gracious there and really embody the spirit behind what we want our from our wine adventure. Keep things laid back, keep learning and exploring, and most of all have fun. This isn’t a game and this isn’t a career this is just one of our many passions and it is okay to take it slow. Whew. I feel better, don’t you?
Okay on to the wine… My sister is going to kill me but I opened the 90 + Lot 24: Cabernet Sauvignon, Oakville, Napa, CA that she purchased while visiting last week*. Boy am I glad I did. Holy smooth operator batman! This wine is the very definition of indulgence. The bottle should be labeled with velvet. It also should live in a room draped with dark silks, low lighting, roses, and chocolates with Barry White playing in the background. That’s it! This wine is Barry White. Romantic, smooth, and large! I really don’t think you should drink this with food. I think you should sip it while staring at twinkling Christmas lights down by the fire. (Hey Susan! That last little bit was for you! “down by the FI-ER!”) *Sister: I will buy more, I promise!
“Can’t get enough of your love baby, ooohh”
Sing it Barry!
